Cowdoy, Pud and the DREM: The Sketches Behind Our Designs
Every Aunty Donna design in our store comes from somewhere: a character, a sketch, a show or a tour. Here's what's behind each one, so you can pick the in-joke that's yours.
Who is Cowdoy?
Cowdoy is the cowboy character Broden Kelly plays, a favourite from Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun. Our Cowdoy Wanted design puts his sheriff's star on the front, with OUTLAW ON THE RUN, and a full Wild West wanted poster on the back: "COWDOY", FOR THE CRIMES OF MURDER, RACKETEERING & FRAUD, REWARD: $1,000,000.
Why does one design just say PUD.?
Because there's always room for Christmas Pud. Always Room for Christmas Pud is the 2018 Aunty Donna sketch that turned into a Christmas favourite in Australia and later a picture book. Our Pud design is one huge word and a full stop.
What is the DREM?
DREM was the live sketch show the group took on a world tour in 2025. Two designs come from it:
- DREM Nightcaps: the three performers in floppy nightcaps, drawn in hot pink, black and white.
- Welcome to the DREM: a title card on the front and a dreamy tour poster on the back, signed off with Why not make a weekend of it?
Which ones are about older shows?
- Big Boys: named after the 2017 live show, in cream or white.
- The Album: a chrome badge for the 2018 comedy record.
- 1999: for the 2016 web series about an office bracing for Y2K.
- Ripper Aussie Summer: a retro sunset for the 2017 web series set at a backyard barbecue.
And the rest?
Pure Aunty Donna logos, each louder than the last: Pink Spots, Triple Logo, 90s Triangle, Script Outline, Cream Bubble, Line Faces and the surreal Melting Keys.
